AHSHAY Project Coordinator 2026
AHSHAY Project Coordinator 2026
About AHSHAY
AHSHAY Center (AHSHAY) is comprised of a small group of people (5-8 total). AHSHAY seeks to support youth
impacted by significant trauma - with a focus on youth incarceration and youth homelessness – through projects,
community partnerships, changes in policy and youth leadership development.
The mission of AHSHAY is to build up the fortifiers of hope and wellness for youth and unbuild the fortifications of
youth incarceration and youth homelessness.
AHSHAY’s values include: Abundance, Relationships, Joy, Wellness, Equity, Co-Creation, Youth Brilliance and
Persistence.
We know, through an expansive amount of research data and lived experience, that youth incarceration is
ineffective, inefficient, harmful, counter to our societal values and shares common roots with other harms like
youth homelessness.
AHSHAY is strategically positioned to bridge a host of perspectives and expertise by being dually connected to the
University of Washington and the Tubman Center for Health & Freedom (Tubman Health). AHSHAY team
members and work structure tends to engage people across a spectrum of ages, lived experiences, avocations
and perspectives; all with a focus on the voices of youth most- proximate to impact from incarceration and
homelessness.
AHSHAY’s Position:

Projects and priorities may shift over time, and the Project Coordinator may support multiple projects or
