About the Business

Whiskers Lodge was founded by a married gay couple navigating parenthood, small business ownership, and life with many beloved cats (and one busy toddler). What started as a deep respect for feline wellbeing and low-stress care became a vision for something that didn’t yet exist in Seattle: a thoughtfully designed, cat-only lodge that treats rest, safety, and emotional comfort as essentials, not upgrades.

With backgrounds in people care, operations, and community building, we set out to create a space where cats are understood as individuals and their humans feel genuinely supported. Every design choice, routine, and policy at Whiskers Lodge reflects that belief.

Beyond Boarding

Whiskers Lodge is intentionally calm, scent-aware, and choice-based. We focus on predictable routines, quiet observation, and environments that let cats settle at their own pace.

Our goal isn’t constant stimulation. It’s trust.

By removing unnecessary stressors and prioritizing regulation, privacy, and comfort, we offer cats a stay that feels safe—and humans peace of mind while they’re away.

About Us

Our lives are full and a little chaotic in the best way: raising a toddler, caring for a house full of cats, building a small business from the ground up, and staying deeply connected to our LGBTQ+ community.

When we’re not at the lodge, you can usually find us juggling nap schedules, swapping cat behavior notes, tackling home projects, or laughing at how ambitious we were when we said, “Sure, let’s do this.”

(We also drink a lot of coffee.)
